Dante is the most popular AV over IP (AVoIP) protocol among live events and broadcast professionals because of it’s outstanding reliability, flexibility, and the ability to use off the shelf networking equipment. Countless users worldwide deploy Dante flawlessly every day from small houses of worship, to Broadcast trucks at sporting events, to the largest major concerts.

But what happens if something isn’t working as expected? And how do you decide the best way to configure your equipment?

Dante Troubleshooting and Practical Workflows was developed by Ed Willock to help answer both those questions.

During this 8 hour fully hands-on class you will build a Dante network from the ground up; through a series of exercises that demonstrate how to identify, diagnose, and resolve common issues they may encounter in the field. We will also dive into a variety of practical Dante workflows for live event production, including the workflow Ed has refined over hundreds of shows. And of course, there is plenty of time for you to ask questions or test your workflow ideas.

No matter where you are on your Dante journey this class is right for you. It is recommended that students have some basic knowledge of Dante, but beginners won’t be left behind since we take each exercise step-by-step. Ed recommends that everyone take the official Dante training (especially levels 1 & 2) to learn how Dante works, and basic networking principals. What sets Dante Troubleshooting and Practical Workflows apart is the hands-on experience while encountering real-world issues in a zero pressure environment, rather than trying to figure it out on a show in front of a client with a looming deadline. You will walk away from this class armed with more knowledge, experience, and confidence for when something goes wrong, and be better prepared to design and implement your Dante networks in the field.
